BLACK SWAMP PREDATOR CONTROL ZONE

Predator control in Black Swamp will protect remaining fragments of the once vast Black Swamp wetlands, which continue to support threatened species like the Critically Endangered matuku hūrepo (Australasian bittern) and At-Risk moho pererū (banded rail).

Control will also play a crucial role in protecting the numerous threatened species living around the Mangawhai estuary and Wildlife Refuge, such as the Critically Endangered NZ fairy tern.

We can supply free traps, training and support to landowners within the project area.

Already trapping? We would love to bring together and support the efforts of landowners and community groups
already undertaking predator control within the project area.
